Walking in His love and plans for our lives.

How quickly the time goes by, I have not published any posts here for many months! I have been writing but have not felt like they were posts that I should publish. And so today I have decided to start writing and publishing posts far more frequently, and consistently than before. When I have little to say, I will simply post photographs of Gods majestic creation.

One of the things that irritates me, and saddens my heart,  is Christians who have become complacent about their faith and their actions. They speak one thing but act in a totally different way. This has been the focus of my writing recently. A friend of mine sent this verse to me yesterday. "Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them speaks against the law that judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it but sitting in judgment on it. There is only one law giver and judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you - who are you to judge your neighbor?" - James 4:11-12. At first I wondered why it was sent to me, and if it was just a mass message sent to everyone as a reminder, but as I meditated on it I realised that my writing has been a bit judgemental lately. (obviously why I have not felt like I should publish). While I do believe you should stand up for your beliefs, it is not for me to say how and who is doing that and who is falling short, for we all fall short of the glory of God. We are all a work in progress. God is refining us, and He is the one, who without condemnation, will gently let us feel convicted, that we may grow closer to him. 1 Peter 4:8 - " Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins."
Our faith in action is simply to LOVE our neighbors, no judgment! And on that note... I aim to love more deeply, to let the light and love of Jesus shine through me to His people, to be His hands and feet whenever possible, as I lean in to Him and walk where He may lead, let me be a blessing to others, for I am so blessed.

I spent last week in the beautiful Drakensberg mountains. I have been going there on vacation with my parents and friends for 21 years (blessed indeed)!

There is something about the mountains that I find so peaceful, and being submerged in Gods creation, always puts things in perspective. This year I had a lot of time to hike and enjoy the mountains on my own and spend quality time with our Lord and saviour. While I live in the city, I am a bush baby at heart -  I LOVE wide open spaces, wild, natural areas, they feed my soul and I find it so easy to Be Still and to remain close to God in these moments. Given half a chance I would pack up my belongings and move into my tent again for another season :) One of the questions I constantly ask myself and God - is if I am walking in His will and plan for my life. Yet perhaps we over analyse this, (or at least I do). Surely God does not want to keep His will for us a secret, and surely He delights in us knowing that we are walking close to Him, hearing the whispering of His heart, using our gifting and talents to bring glory to His name and encouraging, loving and sharing the gospel with those who come across our path. We can grow and serve wherever we are, in all seasons of our lives. As we wait on God to lead us, we need to take time to be still in His presence, so he may strengthen and prepare us for what lies ahead. The busier we get, the more we need this time with Him, so we do not  live and work in our own strength, but rather walk closely with our Lord. Learn to rely on His strength, trusting Him in every situation. Let us glorify Him by reaching out to those in need with compassion and love.

I was fortunate to meet with both new and old friends in the mountains this year, people who possibly without even knowing, greatly encouraged me and strengthened my faith. I had the honour of sharing a few hours with a new friend, someone who spreads the love of Jesus so evidently everywhere he goes, and who seems to really understand that contrary to what society says, success is not measured by how much money you earn or how popular you are, true success is simply to be obedient to God in whatever He calls you to do. To Love God, to love others and to live out that love, in your actions. I was so blessed when a waitress asked to pray with us as they placed the food before us - wow - imagine if every waiter / waitress, everywhere, prayed with you as they served you your food - such glory to God!

I am so thankful that I get to work in a field that enables me to travel to these natural areas regularly, and to experience and enjoy God's creation, and to share a little piece of it with you.
