Deep water

Sometimes during storms in our lives, we feel pressed in on every side. Our problems can overwhelm us, and we struggle to see any goodness, in the midst of our trials and heartache. We get to a place where our very faith feels shakey and unstable and we begin to feel like we are free falling.

During these times, we often wonder where God is in our pain. We get so focused on our problems that we stop listening for God's voice ~ 2 Cor 12:9 "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ's power may rest on me."

Our loving father is writing our life story. His hand is on our lives. Whether your current chapter is filled with joy and celebration or each word of this chapter in your life is smudged from your tears,  He is whispering to us, calling us to lean into His love. Jesus wants to hold us close, he wants to wrap us in his arms and fill us with an even deeper sense of his love. He longs for us to draw near to him. Jesus knows us and sees our every need. He holds every tear and He walks beside us along every trial.  Psalm 56:8 " You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book." What a beautiful image of God collecting our tears. His heart is in this, with us every step of our journey, wherever He may lead us.

Being a christian does not make us immune to trials and sorrow. But we know that our God has already overcome. That the battle is already won, that the victory is with Jesus. John 16:33 " I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." Through our darkest hours our Lord holds our hand and lovingly guides us out of the valley.

Our God is faithful,  loving,  unchangeable,  eternal, omnipresent,  all knowing, good, merciful, graceful, patient, holy, righteous, perfect. Praise His name. Lift your eyes to your provider. Shift your focus to your heavenly father who loves you beyond compare, who loves you far greater than you could possibly imagine. Whatever season you find yourself in, keep your eyes on Jesus. Let Him love you more!
